Church of Safe Injection logo

The Church of Safe Injection is a Maine-based harm reduction nonprofit that fights for the health, rights, and dignity of people who use drugs (PWUD). We fight for the closure of all prisons and other tools of structural violence against poor and marginalized people.

Harm reduction funding update

The Church of Safe Injection is proud to be a member of the 2023 grantee cohort of @AIDSUnited’s Harm Reduction Futures Fund! We’re looking forward to the opportunities to learn from other grantees and deepen our work for community.

We’re here for LGBTQIA+ Mainers

We’re proud to have received a $7,500 grant from the Maine Community Foundation to initiate services for LGBTQIA+ people in Maine. With this grant we plan to introduce binder vouchers, trans and non-binary support groups, and hormone therapy supply programs.

Help for drug users

COSI has been authorized by the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention to operate syringe service programs in Westbrook, Lewiston, Rumford, Dixfield and Bethel.

Our work remembers and honors our founder, Jesse Harvey.
